Free
Spirit Gathering is held at Ramblewood Retreat Center. Located
on the Susquehanna River, we're just minutes from I-95, in Darlington,
Maryland.
Our proximity
to airports and train stations allows attendees from as
far away as Hawaii, California, Texas,
Michigan and Canada to reach the festival easily and cheaply.
Getting there
by Car:
The
camp is about 90 minutes
south of Philadelphia and 45 minutes north of Baltimore. Full
driving directions will be mailed to you with your confirmation
letter.
Getting
there by Bus or Train:
If you are traveling to FSG by train or bus,
you can go to
either
Aberdeen, MD or Perryville, MD. There are taxis there that
will take you to FSG. Our recommendation for a company to call
is American Taxi, at 410-272-3000. If you call ahead, someone from
the company will meet you at your train. Cab fare is roughly $20-30.
Getting there
by Air:
If
you are traveling to FSG by air, the closest airport is BWI in
Baltimore, MD.
Once at the airport you can rent a car and drive to festival
or hire
a car
service
to
take you.
Midway
Limousine, 410-367-6900, offers sedans and 10 passenger vans
at reasonable prices. (If you are planning on using a car service
you must call them and reserve in advance.)
Directions
to Ramblewood & FSG:
From the North: Take I-95 towards Baltimore. Cross the Milard E.
Tidings bridge; take exit 89 for MD RT 155.
From the South: Take I-95 north through Baltimore (use the Fort
McHenery tunnel) and continue north to exit 89, MD 155.
From Exit 89: Take MD rt 155 west (towards Churchville). Follow
rt 155 for 3 miles; turn right on MD rt 161 (there is a salt dome
on the corner). Continue on rt 161 for 4 1/2 miles into Darlington.
At the Country Store, make a sharp downhill right onto Shuresville
Road, (if you pass the bank, you’ve gone too far). Continue
on Shuresville Rd. (bear left at the fork) for 1 1/2 miles. Turn
right onto Silver Road, which becomes a hard-packed gravel road
that goes 1/2 mile and ends at the camp.
