 Accommodations

Free Spirit is held at the Ramblewood Retreat Center on 200 acres of very private land in Northern Maryland. Minutes from I-95, Free Spirit is easily accessible by public transportation.

Once a summer camp for kids, Ramblewood has been completely upgraded and now caters exclusively to private groups. Each of the 40 cabins have full bathrooms with hot water, showers and flush toilets. Cabins also have electricity, clean mattresses, new lighting and ceiling fans.

For those who wish to get closer to nature, you can pitch your tent almost anywhere on the 200 acre camp. Tenters have full use of bathroom facilities in the cabins, and tenters also receive a $5.00 discount in the form of Duck Bucks which may be spent on merchants row, at the dining hall or in the canteen.

Other facilities include two swimming pools, playgrounds for children, a lake for canoeing, Lakeside bonfire and miles of hiking trails.

Meals

While some people enjoy cooking their own meals at their campsites, many enjoy the community of sharing meals at the camps dining hall.

Meals may be purchased on-line with your registration or on-site at the dining hall. We don't lock you into set meal plans, so you can purchase only those meals you want. The individual cost of meals is $8.00 - Breakfast, $10.00 - Lunch and $12.00 - Dinner, less for kids under 7.

If you do decide to prepare your own meals, you should know that the camp offers no real solution for dishwashing or food storage, although they do sell ice in the canteen. You are prohibited from cooking in the cabins or on the porches and you can’t wash your dishes in the bathroom sinks. Hot water is available to haul to your campsite.
