Fires
of Venus is
held at the Ramblewood Retreat Center. Located on the Susquehanna
River, we're just minutes from I-95, in Darlington, Maryland.
Our
proximity to airports and train stations allows attendees from
as far away as Hawaii, California, Texas, Michigan and Canada
to reach the festival easily and cheaply.
Getting
there by Car:
The camp is about 90 minutes south of Philadelphia and 45 minutes north
of Baltimore. Full driving directions will be mailed to you with your confirmation
letter.
Getting
there by Bus or Train:
If you are traveling to Fires of Venus by train or bus, you can go to either
Aberdeen, MD or Perryville, MD. There are taxi's there that will take you
to Ramblewood & Fires of Venus.
Cab fare is roughly $20.
Getting
there by Air:
If you are traveling to Fires of Venus by air, the closest airport is BWI
in Baltimore, MD. Once at the airport you can rent a car and drive to festival
or hire a car service to take you. Midway Limousine, 410-367-6900, offers
sedans and 10 passenger vans at reasonable prices. (If you are planning
on using a car service you must call them and reserve in advance.)
Directions
to Ramblewood & FSG:
From the North: Take I-95 towards Baltimore. Cross the Milard E. Tidings
bridge; take exit 89 for MD RT 155.
From the South: Take I-95 north through Baltimore (use the Fort McHenery
tunnel) and continue north to exit 89, MD 155.
From Exit 89: Take MD rt 155 west (towards Churchville). Follow rt 155
for 3 miles; turn right on MD rt 161 (there is a salt dome on the corner).
Continue on rt 161 for 4 1/2 miles into Darlington. At the Counrty Store,
make a sharp downhill right onto Shuresville Road, (if you pass the bank,
you’ve gone too far). Continue on Shuresville Rd. (bear left at the
fork) for 1 1/2 miles. Turn right onto Silver Road, which becomes a hard-packed
gravel road that goes 1/2 mile and ends at the camp. |
